Hobby or obsession???
I think it's official, my hobby has for sure become an obsession. I am fascinated with family genealogy, and ancestry research. I began with a 3 month free membership to ancestry.com, and 10 yrs later, the drive and hunt for tidbits of information is still ongoing, and just as exciting as when I first began.
Though researching isn't always frutiful, and sometimes a little slow, it is all worth it, when you find a key piece of info that can tie up loose ends. Before I began researching family ancestry, I had never seen pictures of my maternal Great or GG Grandma. In doing this research, I have come across family connections that have provided me with photos of each. What a fantastic surprise, and something I never expected to find.
For me, it was like finding a treasure, I imagine it like the feeling you get when you hit the jackpot on the slots. Once you've had a taste of treasure, it's hard to turn your back to it again - I'm truly hooked!
Through this page, I will be sharing research on all of my own, and my husbands family lines.
